I am Anja Sersch, born and raised in Germany. Even in my early childhood I had friends who spoke English.
Reading has always been one of my leisure activities, along with making and listening to music. I like books with a historical background and sometimes read two or three books at the same time.
English was one of my main subjects in school.
Jane Austen, George Orwell, Shakespeare, Goethe, Schiller and other literary classics were part of the reading material in German and English classes.
I tutored when I was still in school, then helped my children with their homework, and later supported middle and high school students. German lessons for non-German speakers were also part of the job.
Since 2022 I have resumed giving German and English lessons and it is a lot of fun.
I received my TESOL/TEFL certificate in May 2023. This certificate was issued after completing an accredited training course.
This means I have successfully completed a course that focuses on a full range of topics related to teaching English to non-native speakers, both abroad and online.
